A coalition of 112 cryptocurrency companies, investors and defense groups called on the American Senate. They called for the inclusion of protections for software developers and non -guardian services in the new bill on market regulation.
Today, a coalition of more than 100 signatories joins DEF to send a letter to the congress.
Protections of software developers are non -negotiable in the legislation on the structure of the digital asset market. This critical problem unites us – crypto and technology manufacturers, investors and defenders. pic.twitter.com/fi1zcertwy

The initiative was led by the DEFI Education Fund. The letter was signed by Coinbase, Kraken, Ripple, A16z, Uniswap Labs and almost all the main American lobbying groups, including the Blockchain Association and the Digital Chamber.
In the letter addressed to the Senate committees on the bank and agriculture, the coalition said that it is expressed with a “unified voice”. Participants will not support the invoice without warranty for developers. The main request is not to classify them as financial intermediaries according to obsolete rules.
The authors of the letter argue that the United States may lose its position in open source development. They cite Electric capital data, which shows that the share of American blockchain developers increased from 25% in 2021 to 18% in 2025. The main reason cited is regulatory uncertainty.
“For innovators in America to create in completeness and safe financial infrastructure, the law must include clear federal protections,” said the letter.
According to the coalition, these measures will help stop the flow of innovation in the United States and to avoid contradictions in state legislation.
In August, it was reported that the United States Ministry of Justice would cease to continue the promoters of the Defi request under the operating law of a money transfer company without license.
