The Citigroup banking giant says that 2025 could be a “chatgpt moment” in terms of adoption for stablescoins and blockchain technology.

“The main catalyst for their greatest acceptance can be regulatory clarity in the United States, which could allow greater integration of stable More specifically, and the blockchain more broadly in the existing financial system, ”said the bank’s financial analysts in an April 23 report.

Citigroup

Citigroup sees the market capitalization of the stable reserve hovering at 3.7 billions of dollars by 2030

“The rear winds of regulatory support and the increased integration of digital assets in outgoing financial institutions open the way to increased use of stablecoins,” said Citigroup analysts in the report.

With the sharp increase in the use of stablecoins, the banking titan predicted that market capitalization for stable could go up to 3.7 dollars by the end of the decade in a bull case. In a basic case, this figure should reach 1.6 billion of dollars, according to Citigroup.

Adding to the upward prediction is the growing regulatory clarity of digital assets in the United States under the Trump administration.

Since Pro-Crypto legislators have taken power in the United States earlier this year, stablecoin legislation such as engineering law, which aims to regulate American stablecoins, has already been advanced and is being examined.

Stable transmitters could become the greatest holders of American treasury bills

If the United States has established a regulatory framework for Stablecoin, this could lead to the demand of risk-free assets based on a dollar inside and outside the United States, the report added.

The potential regulatory framework could then push stable transmitters to buy more American treasure goods or assets with the same risk, as their parts increase. According to Citigroup, this could see stable issuers to become the largest holder of American treasury bills by 2030 in the world.

Citigroup then predicted that the stablecoin offer will continue to be mainly based on a dollar, adding that non -American countries will probably promote a national currency or a digital currency of the central bank (CBDC).
