Brazil has marked history by launching the first stock market fund (ETF) in the world following the cash price of XRP, the native cryptocurrency of Ripple.
The fund began to be negotiated on April 25 at the main Brazil scholarship, B3, according to a press release from Valor EconôMico.
Appointed Hashdex Nasdaq XRP Fundo de índice (FI), the ETF is managed by the manager of the Brazilian asset Hashdex and administered by Genial Investments Securities Brokerage SA, with a brilliant bank its servant.
The Brazil CVM erases XRP ETF after the previous approval of the Hashdex Solana Fund
The Brazilian commission for securities and exchanges (CVM) approved the FNB focused on XRP in February, marking another important step after its green light for the Hashdex Spot ETF in August 2023.
After regulatory approval, the fund entered into a preoperational phase before the official launch of the exchange under the Ticker XRPH11.
The ETF reflects the XRP reference price index (NQXRP), which follows the cash price in real time of XRP on the main exchanges of cryptocurrency.
According to the fund documents, at least 95% of XRPH11 net assets will be allocated to XRP and to digital assets, titles or contracts linked to the index.
ETF is currently reporting a net value of almost $ 40 million.
XRPH11 includes a structure of competitive costs, including maximum annual costs of 0.7% for administration, management and distribution, as well as 0.1% cabled childcare costs per year. The fund does not impose any structuring costs.
With this launch, Hashdex has widened its Crypto ETF offers on B3 to nine products.
Samir Kerbage, director of investments at Hashdex, said that XRPH11 joined the Mono-Asset ETF range by the firm, which includes products related to Bitcoin (Bith11), Ethereum (Ethe11) and Solana (Solh11).
These funds are designed for institutional investors who are looking for exposure to digital assets through the regulated Brazil markets.
While Brazil leads with the first ETF XRP, anticipation develops in the United States, where the dry examines applications for SPOT Solana and XRP ETF.
The dry trial against Ripple Labs concludes after four years
The legal dispute between Ripple Labs and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of the United States ended after more than four years, marking a significant development in the regulation of cryptocurrencies.
In December 2020, the SEC filed a complaint against Ripple Labs, alleging that the company had led an offer of uncrowded titles by selling XRP tokens, rising more than $ 1.3 billion.
Ripple challenged the complaint, arguing that XRP is a digital currency, not a guarantee.
In July 2023, the American district judge Anali Torres made a mixed decision: she determined that XRP sales to institutional investors violated securities laws, while sales on public exchanges did not do so.
Consequently, Ripple was ordered to pay a civil sanction of $ 125 million.
In March 2025, Ripple and the SEC reached regulation. Under the agreement, Ripple would pay $ 50 million in the previously imposed fine, the remaining $ 75 million returned to the company.
The two parties agreed to remove their respective calls, effectively implementing the dispute.
