  7. Us Navy associates with Veridat to market the blockchain

Months ago, the US Navy announced its search for private sector partners to market a blockchain -based security platform called paranoid – shorts for a powerful authentication regime applicable to the integrated development of Naval. Developed by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Paranoid is designed to secure software development environments and check the integrity of software throughout its life cycle.

With growing concerns about cybermenaces and software vulnerabilities in military applications, the navy was looking for a trading partner to strengthen and extend paranoid capacities. Shortly after, Veridat obtained a cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) at the Navy, officially becoming its strategic partner in the development, integration and marketing of the paranoid platform.

“The navy was looking for a marketing partner to extend the scope of its initial framework for adoption in additional use cases, and it turns out that we were chosen to do so,” said Robert Huber, founder of Veridat. “We signed the Crada with the navy to co-develop paranoid and bring it to a wide range of civil use cases.”

Why needed a blockchain safety solution

In today’s world, software underlies almost all technologies, including aircraft and defense systems of the navy. This dependence on software makes military assets vulnerable to cyber attacks, as attackers can operate several entry points to manipulate or sabotage critical operations. To fight against this risk, the American navy turned to blockchain technology as a solution, leading to the development of paranoids, a platform which ensures the integrity of software by verifying that no unauthorized change occurs throughout the life cycle of development.

How paranoid: software security powered by the blockchain

Basically, paranoid operates as an unchanging security journal, depending on each step in a software development process. Each action – whether written, publishing, compiling of the code or makes changes in a digital environment – is recorded on the blockchain. This creates a transparent and unalterable history of the development of the software. This leaves a paranoid user with an indestructible logbook that keeps a trace of who changed what and when.

When a software is ready for deployment, the final product is compared to the blockchain recordings. If unauthorized changes are detected, the system signals the problem and prevents the software installation.

This approach guarantees that companies, governments and organizations can secure their development processes well, strengthening their software against falsification. Although this is essential in any industry that values security, it is particularly crucial in military applications, where even minor software compromises can cause catastrophic consequences.

Expand the capacities of Veridat by paranoid

The VIDAT integration of paranoid improves its capacities, in transition to continuous, dynamic and real -time monitoring. “Until now, we have taken snapshots,” said John Giantsidis, CEO of Veridat. “While we continue to work with the navy by developing our integration, our objective is to capture data in a way that is like taking video. This will create a continuous, dynamic and immutable recording of any process or transaction.”

By passing insulated and static data point to a seamless and infiltrated, paranoid recording could establish a new standard for process resilience and data integrity. »»

The future of paranoid beyond military applications

While the paranoid was originally built for military defense, its potential applications extend far beyond. Veridat sees the opportunity to market technology for any industry where authenticity and security are essential. Industries such as luxury products, supply chains and artificial intelligence (IA) could benefit from the verification capacities from end to end. But Veridat is optimistic about its potential impact on AI security in particular.

“The paranoid could guarantee work flows for artificial intelligence,” added Huber. “It is really a question of keeping the infrastructure in safety with precise monitoring. Being able to do so with AI-based tools that are secured against malicious intrusion would be the gold stallion. ”

The problem of the black box in AI – the lack of transparency in the way IA models make decisions – becomes an increasing concern. Many AI systems work as opaque and inexplicable decision -making processes, even for their developers. By implementing an immutable and verifiable newspaper, the paranoid could introduce essential transparency in the training and deployment of the AI model.

A new standard in trust?

In today’s digital world, performing complex tasks requires transparent integration of multiple systems, automation and data -based decision -making. However, as digital processes become more interconnected, they are also becoming more and more vulnerable to unauthorized changes, cyber players and data handling. Ensuring the integrity, authenticity and safety of digital transactions and workflows is essential to maintain operational efficiency and confidence. Organizations risk financial losses, reputation damage and regulatory non-compliance without robust guarantees.

These factors increase the need for a complete standard of confidence that would help to establish verifiable processes and resistant to falsification to ensure that digital operations remain secure, transparent and resilient in the face of threats. According to Huber, this is particularly important in AI, where a complete standard of trust is necessary to protect the integrity of AI into and between systems.

“Our current development project with Nawcad aims to generate the necessary executives who can guarantee that the models work as expected, the data remain to the test and the decisions are exploited and verifiable. Missing such guarantees, AI systems could be exploited by fraud, disinformation, or other harmful activities, eroding confidence in IA-Industries innovations, “said Huber.
