The House of Representatives of the United States officially designated the week from July 14 to 18, 2025 as “crypto weekend”. According to a press release from the House, this period will be devoted to the debate and to the vote on three key bills aimed at shaping the future of the regulation of digital assets in the country.
The legislative package includes the law on clarity, the law on the state of anti-CBDC surveillance and the law on engineering from the Senate. According to a declaration from the management of the Chamber, the initiative benefits from robust support from the president of the Mike Johnson Chamber, the presidents of Committee French Hill and GT Thompson, as well as the support of the Trump administration. The effort is described as an unprecedented thrust to position the United States as a world leader in digital asset innovation.
The Clarity Act seeks to provide a final regulatory framework by distinguishing which digital assets are considered as securities compared to basic products and by establishing operational standards for exchanges. Meanwhile, the anti-CBDC monitoring law aims to prevent the federal reserve from issuing a centrally controlled digital dollar, invoking concerns about potential privacy violations. The Genius Act focuses on payment stables, forcing these digital currencies to maintain full support of assets 1: 1 with capital, transparency and strict federal surveillance requirements. This would effectively recognize stablecoins as digital dollars fully guaranteed under federal law.

According to a treasury statement, the Stablescoin market is expected to increase considerably, potentially reaching $ 3.7 billions by 2030, compared to around 250 billion dollars today. Supporters argue that the new legislative clarity could help keep startups, capital and talent in the United States and to accelerate the tokenization of traditional financial assets.
However, criticisms raise concerns concerning the implications of the Act on Engineering. The largest asset manager in Europe, Amundi warns that the bill could undermine the domination of the US dollar and risk transforming private issuers into “quasi-banks”, potentially threatening global financial stability.
Regardless of different opinions, according to a declaration of legislative initiates, the “cryptography week” should be an essential moment for American financial policy, which can set the tone for digital assets in the world.
