Jirikovsky, identified by local media as the donor of 468 bitcoin to the Ministry of Justice, was detained in a Breclav property, echo24 reported.
The cryptocurrency was transferred earlier this year and accepted by the Minister of Justice at the time, Pavel Blazek, without verifying his origins.
Blazek resigned in May after the revelations that the funds came from Jirikovsky, an operator from Darknet condemned, previously imprisoned for drug trafficking.
A July audit commissioned by the successor of Blazek, Eva Decroix, concluded that the ministry should never have accepted the donation because of the high risk that it represented the crime product.
The scandal has shaken the Czech political landscape. In June, the central coalition of Prime Minister Petr Fiala narrowly survived a vote without confidence launched by the controversy, 98 legislators voting to maintain the government against 94 calling for its withdrawal.
The ano opposition party has since been pressure for new resignations, notably the Minister of Finance Zbynek Stanjura.
Prosecutors said Thursday’s raids aimed to “clarify the case” and secure people and property, refusing to provide more details to protect the integrity of the investigation.
Decroix, who took office as Minister of Justice in May, is committed to publishing a schedule of broadcasting this week containing more than 8,000 admissions, while public control intensified before the October legislative elections.
