Mike Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital has withdrawn more Bitcoin from its wallets, sparking fresh debate over whether big players are selling or simply managing customers’ affairs.

According to on-chain trackers and posts shared by analytics firm CryptoQuant, a total of 1,531 BTC was recently transferred out of Galaxy-linked wallets.
Galaxy customer transactions
Galaxy acts as both an investment bank and a trading desk for institutions, so large transfers do not always mean the firm is reducing its own exposure.
Reports have highlighted that Galaxy has already executed large customer orders – including a notional sale of over 80,000 BTC in the last quarter – and that many of these transactions are processed off-exchange via OTC channels.
These facts make it difficult to view short-term cash outflows as pure profit-taking on the part of Novogratz’s company.

Chain pattern adds detail
The 1,531 BTC move follows a series of recorded outflows. For example, trackers recorded an outflow of 411 BTC on October 24, suggesting that this is not an isolated incident but part of several recent transfers linked to the company’s wallets.
Some analysts say the trend looks like increasing selling pressure. Other market watchers say the amounts are consistent with client execution and rebalancing.
Breakdown of Market Sentiment
Sentiment indicators show shared mood. Social measures and the so-called fear and greed gauge have recently plunged into fear territory. However, the leaders of some asset managers say the opposite.
Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, said institutions are “rushing in” and he points to the growing institutional interest as a signal that demand is increasing to higher levels.
These two views conflict: on the one hand, visible capital outflows and difficult short-term flows, and on the other, increasing institutional allocation.
Pricing Background and What It Means
Bitcoin is trading at just over $110,000 as these moves occur. This price level is important because traders view it as an obstacle for the bulls.
When large transfers arrive near key price levels, they receive special attention; some see them as profit-taking, others as routine customer service. Either way, the net effect on prices depends on whether or not buyers step in to absorb supply.

Signals Traders Watch
Keep an eye on three things: ETF flows, OTC activity, and on-chain outflows from known custodians. Spot crypto ETFs have seen net withdrawals in recent weeks, which may undermine demand even as large institutions slowly buy elsewhere.
If ETF outflows persist while portfolios linked to major brokers continue to exit coins, price pressure could increase. But if flows return to spot ETFs or large buyers match OTC sales, this pressure may ease quickly.
