Key notes

  • Hacker Shibarium asks for “50 ETH or nothing” as his bounty offer.
  • Shibarium Network noted that this shows that the hacker is seeking to harm the protocol.
  • In September, the hacker began moving the siphoned funds.

Shibarium Hacker Negotiates Bonus Offer

According to Shibarium Network, the hacker behind the platform exploit refused to accept a bounty lower than 50 ETH.

UPDATE: This premium now decreases each day until the end of the claim period.

The hacker has already responded once again saying “50th or nothing”, so we can assume that this person has a very smooth brain and only wants to see K9 Finance DAO, and by extension, all of Shibarium…

The protocol believes that the bad actor is seeking to harm the ecosystem and its associated projects. Unfortunately, many projects like Roaring Kitty, Bad Idea Ai and LTD were affected by the attack.

“Every team that worked hard to build on Shibarium and was impacted by this event deserves a positive outcome here at the end, and we had hoped this would be an outcome we could all share,” Shibarium Network shared in a recent article on X.

The team made several offers to the hacker, including a “final offer” of 25 ETH. MRShimamoto on X thought the exploit’s author would accept it, but hacker Shibarium’s latest request suggests otherwise.

Shibarium hacker unloads his loot

The attack on the Shibarium Bridge occurred in September, with security firm PerkShield first spotting suspicious activity.

After investigation, it was discovered that the attacker used a flash loan to acquire the 4.6 million BONE, but Shiba Inu immediately froze the tokens.

The Shibarium team offered the attacker a Whitehat bounty and even promised to drop legal action if he returned the funds before the appointed time.

Instead of returning the funds, the hacker unloaded the siphoned funds, as spotted by Christopher Johnson, president of Lightspeed Crypto Services and advisor to the Bad Idea AI (BAD) project.

Since then, there have been several back and forths, and it remains unclear whether Shibarium will respond to the hacker’s latest demands.
