Pressure on Ethereum is increasing as the ETHBTC pair breaks down from a key descending triangle structure. The weakening performance against Bitcoin suggests that bearish momentum could still dominate the market, leaving Ethereum vulnerable to deeper pullbacks unless the bulls quickly regain critical resistance levels.
ETHBTC Trendline Rejection Keeps Pressure on Ethereum
Crypto analyst Ardi recently highlighted that Ethereum continues to face weakness against Bitcoin as ETHBTC continues to reject a major descending trendline. Repeated rejections of this structure increase the likelihood that Ethereum will print new cycle lows against the US Dollar if overall market conditions weaken further.
Meanwhile, ETHBTC begins to break down from its descending triangle support, signaling increasing bearish pressure on the pair. The analyst also noted that Ethereum is currently trading lower than where BTC was hovering around the $60,000 region, highlighting the extent of ETH’s relative underperformance over the past few months. Based on the current structure, Ardi believes that if the crypto market experiences another significant decline, Ethereum could fall to new lows even before Bitcoin returns to the $60,000 level.

Ethereum is currently holding above the cycle low it set against Bitcoin in April last year, representing the highest macroeconomic low on the chart. As long as this support persists, Ardi believes that ETH still has the potential to establish a broader structure and prepare for a possible reset as the next market cycle approaches.
Ethereum withdrawal remains corrective despite near-term pressure
According to More Crypto Online, Ethereum’s short-term bearish pressure is still active, while the recent decline still appears to be a patch rather than the start of a stronger impulse sell-off. Although the overall market structure remains fragile, analysts have noted that there is still no confirmed evidence to suggest a major long-term top is fully formed.
The expert explained that Ethereum could still attempt another upward move as long as the price action remains above the lower boundary of its current channel and continues to hold within the active support zone. Immediate support levels lie around $2,187 and $2,122. A successful bullish break above the $2,318 resistance zone could open the way towards the $2,646 region.
However, More Crypto Online warned that the outlook could turn significantly bearish if Ethereum decisively breaks below lower channel support. Such a move would increase the likelihood that a broader market top is already in place and could shift attention back to the February lows.
For the moment, the structure still suggests a corrective decline rather than a confirmed trend reversal. Major support levels remain at $2,187, $2,122, and $2,037, while resistance stands at $2,318 and $2,646. Until sellers produce a stronger breakdown, Ethereum’s broader recovery structure remains technically alive despite continued weakness.
