Friends and friends!
Today we want to bring everyone a few details about the ticketing process before the Monday launchand we have updates on requests for supporters, volunteers and discounted tickets. The icing on the cake is that we will also introduce you to the Devcon Community Hubs!
But first, we hope you’ve heard about the Devcon VI ticket presale in the Auction and raffleand maybe even make an offer. Otherwise, you have one last day to participate and win a ticket to Devcon VI by placing a minimum bid of 0.25 ETH. The auction ends on July 14 at 07:59 UTC.
All participants who do not obtain the 20 highest bids will find themselves in the Raffle to potentially win one of 80 Devcon VI tickets for 0.25 ETH each (~50% off regular price)!
TICKET SALE STARTS! 🎟
We now have more news for you: Wave 01 of Devcon general admission tickets will go live on July 18, first at 4:00 p.m. UTC, then again at 11:00 p.m. UTC.
Ticket sales will be done online here at the times indicated above.
Waves have been a bit rushed in the past, but we’ve made changes to work towards a smoother process with multiple timezone options – which has helped many Devconnect attendees!
To ensure more people have a fair chance to participate in Devcon, ticket purchases are limited to 2 tickets per orderand there will be more ticketing waves to come after next week’s release.
Ready? Set your alarms and go to the Devcon.org ticketing page when the wave opens!
Builder, students and volunteers 👷
As always, we are working to make Devcon accessible to more people.
More than two thirds of Devcon tickets are (still) either discounted or free and aimed at, among others, builders and students.
We have opened applications from builders, students and volunteers well in advance and are working on the applications. You can always ask for help as volunteer or for constructor Or student reductions.
Closing of supporter applications 📝
We were delighted to announce this year’s support program instead of traditional sponsorships. In lieu of sponsoring the event, aligned groups are invited to contribute donations to Ethereum public goods and as a thank you, they will receive Supporter tickets to Devcon VI.
We owe a big thank you to all the groups who have already committed to contributing through the Supporter Program and thus contributing to the development of the Ethereum ecosystem.
We have made efforts to review all groups that have applied to participate in the Devcon Supporter Program, and while we are still in the review process, (thanks for your patience to all those still waiting!) we close the Supporter applications to new submissions on July 18 at 4:00 p.m. UTC.
Every year we try to make Devcon a more holistic experience and, at the same time, make Devcon more decentralized, community-based and fun. We try to achieve this with different initiatives, for example with the Devcon Improvement Proposals (DIP)with events around Devcon organized by aligned ecosystem groups, and adding additional sparks on top of the main programming, like art exhibitions, hacker spaces, and now Community centers.
Community centers are physical spaces that we want to assign for free to dedicated groups in the Ethereum community, and leave it up to them to organize, facilitate, and be responsible for what happens in the Hubs throughout the conference.
Community centers will be marketing-free, technology or community focused, dedicated to a specific cause or topic, and expected to provide benefits to all Devcon attendees.
We have opened a call for tenders (RFP) for Community centers!
If you are a community, initiative or interest group and would like to contribute to Devcon VI, visit the Devcon forum and apply to get a Community center area. You will find a complete description of the Community centers And instructions on how to apply in the request for proposals.
