A new blockchain based on arbitrum called Studio Chain is launched to explore what Crypto can do in the entertainment sector.
The Karrat Foundation worked with the Arbitrum Foundation on the project. The Karrat Foundation is behind the Karrat token used by the Royal Game of Battle Royale of Amgi Studios, which, according to the team, experienced more than 500,000 downloads on the Epic Games store in the start of access. Karrat will also become the native token of the studio chain, and my pet will be launched on the studio channel.
Quick Sidenote: A few years ago, I was able to consult the AMGI studio in California where my pet hooligan is made of IRL. The team was incredibly passionate not only by their video game and their original rabbit IP, but also on their animated film plans. They are next to Hollywood, after all.
The studio chain is linked to this vision.
Abitrum Orbit is a technology that allows others to launch their own channels, and they are all connected to create “a universe of channels”. Arbitrum One, on the other hand, is the main channel of arbitrum which is an EVM compatible L2 on Ethereum, using optimistic rolls to reduce the costs of the network. The studio chain will therefore be its own channel in the chain arbitrum network.

“By taking advantage of the powerful arbitrum infrastructure, we are able to create game experiences that were previously impossible,” said Luke Paglia, COO and co-founder of Amgi Studios, in a press release. “My pet hooligan is only the beginning – this collaboration allows the property of assets at transparent game, the real interactive extensions focused on players and improved interoperability which will transform the way the public is committed to entertainment.”
In the declaration, an unnamed representative of the Karrat Foundation suggested that the chain could change the way in which “IP entertainment is created and distributed”.
It is ambitious for sure, even if we do not know even more details on their plans.
The studio chain will have to compete with the many existing play channels, such as Ronin, sui, immutable and abstract, as well as the chains that have been launched to simply support a game.
Off The Grid de Gunzilla Games is an ambitious game with its own chain, Gunz, using Avalanche, and saw 4.9 million monthly active wallets in January 2025. The next cryptographic version of MaplesTory also plans to launch its own avalanche chain.
Gala praised its cinematographic vision fed by Crypto-Dans years, but we have not seen this company take off (Gala launched a film token last year, and it is down 93% of its summit of all time).

In the end, we simply haven’t seen main film or television projects in blockchain, no film platforms based on the blockchain, arrow in the dominant current. Recently, niche coins have splashes, such as the normal MFER, a animated short film which makes a strong reference to the culture of memes, to cryptographic culture and to the MFERS NFT collection.
More broadly, it seems that we are still at that time of crypto where projects want to launch their own channels. We saw 104 networks related to the game announced last year, according to data from the Crypto Game7 game platform.
Starting a dedicated chain can give studios more control and independence, but I do not know if all these channels will have a significant long -term stay of stay.
I think it mainly depends on whether these games get enough coherent players – and income – to keep the lights on.
