Andrew Tate’s response to Coffeezilla shows that he is thin-skinned and doesn’t care about the people who invested in his tokens.
On-chain detective Coffeezilla has become a thorn in the side of high-profile influencers gifting coins to their millions of fans.
One of his most famous scalps is Logan Paul, who was torn apart over his struggling and now abandoned CryptoZoo project.
Coffeezilla also took on Sam Bankman-Fried as he works to uncover scams from his 3.77 million YouTube subscribers.
But now the investigator is facing backlash over a comprehensive study that hasn’t even been published yet – and which concerns a number of pieces that were approved by Andrew Tate.
On Wednesday, Coffeezilla shared a DM he sent to Tate, asking if he had been paid to promote cryptocurrencies, including ROOST and DADDY.
The post also points out that this is completely at odds with videos Tate posted on X earlier this year, in which he was topless and appeared to have much more hair.
Coffeezilla follows a crucial journalistic principle known as the “right of reply.” If you make allegations against someone, they must have the ability to respond before publication.
But instead of answering the legitimate questions posed – which would interest his many acolytes – Tate chose to go down the homophobic route.
At first glance, this triggered a huge can of worms. Coffeezilla shared a screenshot that shows how his inbox was bombarded with insults.
For what? Because Tate reposted an anonymous account revealing Coffeezilla’s email address, with the misogynist telling his followers: “Email him and call him gay.” »
Undeterred, the investigator insisted he still wanted his questions answered — and it’s likely that, if time runs out, Coffeezilla’s video will be posted online without comment anyway.
The YouTuber also posted a comedic mash-up showing Tate chewing a cigar because it looks cool, stating that he respected Coffeezilla, moving on to another clip where he said:
“Coffeezilla is an ab****. I don’t care about your video, I don’t respect your journalism.
Given how wide-eyed Tate looks as he points his finger at the camera, one might suggest that all this scrutiny bothers the fake entrepreneur more than he lets on.
What is Coffeezilla investigating?
Coffeezilla, who married his high school sweetheart in 2017, has so far remained tight-lipped about the nature of the allegations against Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan.
But it appears that a central focus of its next investigation will be on the $DADDY token, whose value has fallen precipitously since its launch and has never recovered.
An all-time high of $0.2925 was reached in mid-June when CoinMarketCap began tracking the altcoin – and at the time of writing, it is down more than 48%.
Tate’s full rebuttal video is something of a parody – honestly, some of the lines are pure comedy, especially the way they’re delivered. He said to Coffeezilla:
“I guarantee I drink more coffee than you, which means you’re a fraud to begin with. You made this little breakdown, this investigation, you just sent me an email in a homosexual tone.
To be honest, I don’t even know where to start. You can’t have “Coffee” in your handle unless you prove you have a higher caffeine tolerance than Andrew Tate? Dare to scrutinize a man who has more legal troubles than Lamborghinis reveals his sexual preference?
Before we even learn the exact nature of Coffeezilla’s investigation, we get a glimpse of how little Andrew Tate is competent – and, ultimately, how little he cares about his community, as well as those who have invested in its tokens.
Tate’s toxic masculinity preyed on the insecurity of disenfranchised young men across the world, while his foray into crypto plunged into their wallets, creating a false illusion that they too will one day experience a extreme wealth.
When you think about it, Tate’s branding and message are reminiscent of a time that most of the crypto world has tried to move away from, when the ICO boom of 2017 was full of wild excess as well as Endless images of fast cars and wads of cash.
In this battle, the crypto community must rally behind Coffeezilla – a man who took great risks to expose bad actors in the industry and defend those who lost their savings to some of the industry’s most audacious scams. It serves, among other things, as crypto’s immune system, with each investigation slowly eroding the industry’s “Wild West” image and deterring opportunistic thieves who plan to defraud unsuspecting victims.
The crypto community needs to distance itself from narcissists like Tate, who use homophobia as a weapon to distract from their own flaws. Coffeezilla’s sexual orientation has nothing to do with the work he does, and it’s shameful to think otherwise. Digital assets will never see mass adoption if influencers in this space denigrate innocent people who are doing nothing wrong.
Finally, the crypto community needs to understand that Andrew Tate and his coins are everything this innovative industry is not: hateful, harmful, and dishonest. Engaging with him only drags the rest of the industry down.
Crypto is about the future. Tate’s worldview is a thing of the past.
