November 17 – La Liga champions FC Barcelona have signed a three-year global partnership with Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP), a blockchain company building privacy-focused infrastructure powered by decentralized AI.
The deal makes ZKP the club’s official crypto protocol partner until 2028 and integrates the company’s technology philosophy into Barca’s growing digital roadmap.
It’s another sign of how crypto technology is becoming increasingly integrated into the football ecosystem. What started as jersey sponsorships and NFT drops has evolved into clubs betting on advanced blockchain systems to manage data, fan engagement and even performance analytics.
ZKP’s specialty is zero-knowledge technology, which allows information to be verified without exposing or storing personal data. In a sport obsessed with both fan data and competitive secrecy, this talk hits two pressure points at once.
The partnership gives ZKP access to Barça’s digital advertising space, visibility in the club’s media and space to create new digital experiences for fans. The club claims the system’s decentralized AI layer can analyze athlete performance without exposing raw data, protect confidential information from outside misuse, and bring greater transparency to algorithmic decision-making.
But the rise of crypto in football often raises an eyebrow or two, and this deal is no exception. ZKP’s online presence is minimal, with only 33 followers on X at the time of the announcement.
