In an industry filled with complexity, jargon and distrust, web women say that the way of attracting more women in cryptographic space begins with clarity, education and the community.
During the secondary Blockchain Baddies event at Token2049 in Dubai, women shared personal experiences from entering the web world3 and why they believe that more female participation is essential for the future of crypto.
In interviews with Cointtelegraph, the members of the community have declared that the way to follow begins by simplifying technical concepts and promoting the environments where women can learn and develop.
From clarity to construction skills
From the simplification of technical language to the creation of safe spaces for learning, web women said that the demystification of the crypto and the more intuitive meeting can unlock more opportunities for women to enter the web3 industry.
Caroline York, marketing director of web 3 seotonin, said that making space more welcoming for women begins with clarity. “In order to attract more women, we have to make information much more digestible and clearer,” she said.
York told Cointelegraph that women also tend to feel more safe in high -confidence and intimate environments, with friends and peers as a source of information. “Women learn from other women,” added York, pointing to educational initiatives focused on the community like Shefi. York said these programs play a role in expanding women’s participation.
Saima Tariq Khan, engineer, educator and member of the cryptographic community, echoed the feelings of York. Khan told Cointelegraph that the demystification of the intimidating vocabulary of cryptography is the way to follow. “What is Defi? What do I mean by cryptocurrency? What is blockchain? First, we have to build this first level of understanding,” she said.
Khan has also said that if many women get their computer courses diploma, they are underrepresented on the job market. The member of the community said that nature distant from web3 offers the possibility of engaging with an unusual talent basin.

Financial literacy should be the starting point
Paloma Soria Brown, Shefi author and scholarship holder, also said that education was the key. However, Brown said financial literacy should be the starting point.
“People don’t necessarily know what web3 means,” said Brown at Cointelegraph. “When you know the crypto but you are not an investor, you may only see the scams and the carpet.”
Brown has said that increasing financial education and construction confidence is essential to attract women and more people in space. She said that if more people understood the concepts of property, freedom and web community, they would be attracted to her potential.
Meanwhile, Abigail Xavier, marketing manager of the web3 financial platform fasst, told Cintelegraph that companies have a role to play in the realization of crypto more accessible to women. Xavier said their team actively sought comments from women focused on women to improve their products.
“We associate ourselves with many communities of inclusive women to understand their experience and integrate these comments in our user interface and UX,” said Xavier. “We want to make our platform and our tools more intuitive for our female audience.”
