The online negotiation company based in the United Kingdom, IG Group, acquired an independent Australian reserve Crypto Exchange in an agreement worth $ 178 million ($ 117 million) on Friday.

Independent reserve, an important cryptocurrency exchange, has a strong presence in Australia and Singapore. The platform already offers 34 digital asset exchanges, serving retail and institutional investors.
In addition, the scholarship registered a turnover of $ 35.3 million in the 12 months until June, almost double the previous year.
The acquisition agreement follows an in -depth assessment of the crypto exchange industry, IG Group said in an official press release.

IG to initially acquire 70% of the independent reserve
The company noted that it initially acquires 70% of the Australian company, with the possibility of buying the remaining 30% depending on the performance of the year 2027 and 2028.
“The completion is subject to Mas regulatory approvals in Singapore and Firb in Australia and currently expected at the beginning of 2026,” the statement said.
In addition, the agreement should be accretive to make a profit by action by action during the first full financial year after the fence.
In June, IG Group became the first company listed in the United Kingdom to allow British retail investors to negotiate BTC, ETH, XRP and 35 other tokens.
