The Cardano Foundation revealed that the network community had officially ratified the Blockchain Constitution, preparing the way for its implementation on February 23.

In an article on February 19 on X, the Cardano Foundation said:

“The Cardano constitution has been ratified. This step defines the bases of governance on the chain, guaranteeing clear rules, transparency and responsibility in decision -making. »»

According to the Foundation, approval follows in -depth discussions, workshops and contributions from stakeholders.

The governance framework described in the Constitution guarantees that Ada holders have a direct role in the formation of Cardano’s evolution. The document formalizes a decentralized decision -making process and benefits from a large support of delegated representatives (DREPS) and the interim constitutional committee (ICC).

A new governance era

The founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, celebrated development in a live flow of February 18, stressing that the network is now entirely decentralized without a single control point.

He said:

“We are completely decentralized. There is no centralized failure in Cardano like Bitcoin. »»

Hoskinson compared this achievement to constitutional amendments at the national level, suggesting that similar changes in traditional governments are often difficult. However, he noted that Cardano successfully implemented this transformation on a global scale.

According to him:

“(When) was the last time that we changed the American Constitution – I think it was the early 90s – to give you an idea? I do not think that in this political environment, we could never obtain another constitutional amendment at the federal level. But we did it here, and we did it around the world with people who have known themselves in the process. And it’s, uh, it’s a fairly special day. This is a pretty special thing.

Hoskinson also noted that the writing process lasted more than two years and involved comments from more than 1,800 contributors in 50 countries. The effort aimed to create a governance structure which reflected the values of its global community.

The founder of Cardano also confirmed that the interim Constitutional Committee will face a re -election later this year at the expiration of the conditions of its members.
