On the crypto front, there are currently several legislative avenues. They largely depend on the outcome of the elections – which we may not know immediately, it should be noted. If one party wins the White House, House and Senate (it will take office in January), we likely won’t see further progress toward crypto legislation this year, said Rep. Tom Emmer, Republican and current whip of the majority. Indeed, if only one party is poised to win this trio, lawmakers can simply wait a few months to craft a bill that would not require heavy compromises with the other party.
