The founder of Binance, Changpeng ‘Cz’ Zhao, went on stage in Token2049 to share his opinions on the way in which artificial intelligence and blockchain reshape the world – from education and governance to the adoption of cryptography.
In a conversation by the fireside with Raoul Pal of Real Vision, CZ spoke of the scaling of initiatives focused on the impact as stories generated by the AI, now available in 15 languages and reaching more than 220,000 children in just six months. CZ aims to educate a billion children for free with Giggle Academy.
CZ advises dozens of countries on cryptographic policy
CZ’s ambitions extend beyond education. He revealed in progress advisory roles with more than a dozen governments, including water, where his early participation has helped establish the regulatory body of Dubai cryptography, Vara. He stressed that the value of the blockchain goes far beyond negotiation, use cases such as land rights, digital identifiers and cross-border public services.

“AI currency is crypto”
“The AI will change everything,” said CZ, highlighting its role in rationalizing the creation of stories, improving the coherence of the characters and the propagation of more interactive applications. He considers crypto as the natural financial layer of AI agents, who, according to him, will soon be added independently. “AI currency is crypto,” he added.
The co-founder of Binance also said that even if there were many AI agents with tokens today, most of them lacked real utility. He expressed the desire to see agents who offered authentic value and practical use, supported by significant tokens. He criticized the climb of the cobblestones of Token AI where users could create an agent with their own name by clicking on a button, calling these useless tokens and saying that “99.99% of them were useless”.
CZ on global cryptography regulations
In the state of global adoption, CZ noted that Europe is lagging behind while countries like Bhutan and the United States open the way with cryptographic strategic reserves. Speaking of India, CZ highlighted high taxes as a blockade for the adoption of cryptography in the country. He called for more founders focused on the mission in web3 and urged entrepreneurs to focus on creating real and user -centered applications – not simply to hunt media threshing.
By reflecting on the beginnings of Binance, CZ admitted having underestimated the speed of its growth and the impact that the stablecoins were going to have.
