Dan Morehead, CEO and founder of the Pantara Capital investment company, is convinced that DEFI will surpass Bitcoin over the next five years.
In a recent interview with Cointtelegraph, Morehead stressed that despite the poor performances of the Altcoin funds in Pantera in 2019, the situation has overthrown in recent months due to the explosive growth of decentralized funding and tokens protocols.
At the end of August, the Pantera asset digital fund increased by 123% over a year. “The world woke up in Defi and the capital took place in space,” he said.
According to the fund manager, Bitcoin has already established itself as digital gold and an effective wealth reserve. Therefore, he thinks that his increase in increase is relatively limited.
“It could perhaps go to a million (…), but it is really the edge of the possibility because you enter a number which represents 20 billions of dollars in all the money on earth is only 100 billions of dollars”.
On the other hand, DEFI is still in its infancy and largely undervalued given its potential to disturb the traditional financial sector – hence its enormous appreciation potential. He said:
“It is much more likely that all of the DEFI space increases a 100x in the next five years than Bitcoin.”
