In a podcast with Tucker Carlson (timestamped link starting at 19:34), Michael Saylor seemingly conceded that bitcoin doesn't pose any threat to the dollar because bitcoin isn't a currency:

"bitcoin's not a currency… if the government thought it was a currency and if it competed with the US dollar, they would take offense and suppress it"

So in other words… it's a grift. How do bitcoiners handle this cognitive dissonance?
