The Ethereum Foundation’s EcoDev research team is excited to announce the launch of five six-month research grants. This fellowship provides participants with the opportunity to take a deep dive into under-explored use cases of Ethereum, identifying blockers and enablers that can affect their development.
We invite researchers, developers, community members and professionals from other sectors to apply by submitting their general information and a one-page research proposal. We are looking for innovative ideas focused on emerging Ethereum use cases that:
- Benefit from the capabilities of Ethereum materially and uniquely.
- Focus on use cases that generate positive results and concrete benefits.
- Have not yet gained popularity and/or been explored in depth within the Ethereum ecosystem.
The scholarship is research focused broader and under-explored areas of use rather than specific products or pre-commercial developments. We are not seeking proposals for incremental improvements in well-researched and well-funded areas, such as AMMs, lending protocols, digital art, collectible intellectual property, prediction markets, domain names, etc.
Scholarship Details
- Full-time scholarship: Fellows will receive a monthly stipend to support their work.
- Regular updates: Fellows are expected to share monthly releases and a final report at the end of the six-month period.
- Commitment from the EF team: Weekly group discussions, guidelines, and check-ins for EcoDev Research team fellows will be provided.
Scholarship deliverables
Fellows are required to provide monthly progress reports and a final report summarizing their findings at the end of the six-month period. Additionally, fellows will present their work to the EcoDev research team, with the opportunity to share their ideas at public events.
