Ethereum developers are launching a new testnet to complete the pectra upgrading in the middle of the difficulties

Ethereum (ETH) developers are ready to launch Hoodi, a new long -lived testt on March 17, while working to resolve continuous challenges with the highly anticipated upgrade of Pectra.

The testnet will mainly focus on the validator’s output mechanisms, one of the final obstacles before Pectra can move forward. Larger tests will continue on Ethereum sepolia and Holesky tests.

The upgrading of Pectra, which merges the characteristics of Prague and Electra’s proposals, aims to improve implementation operations, improve layers of execution and consensus and introduce key optimizations for Ethereum validators.

However, the upgrade was faced with repeated delays due to customer preparation problems, synchronization bugs and infrastructure problems.

According to the developer of the Ethereum Foundation, Tim Beiko, the main activation of Pectra will only get each other if Hoodi Fourks and the customer teams confirm the confidence in the stability of the upgrade.

Even in the best of cases, the activation of the Mainnet will only occur at least 30 days after Hoodi Forks, fixing on April 25 as as soon as possible.

Pectra Lunges

Ethereum developers have worked through a series of unexpected challenges with Pectra, including problems with validators’ outings, network synchronization and compatibility between customer implementations.

Delays arise from the problems encountered during testnets deployments. The Holesky Testnet, for example, did not end up finalizing after the upgrading of Pectra, leading to potential Mainnet launch delays when the developers study problems.

Likewise, Sepolia’s testnet has experienced configuration errors, which prompted the developers to extend the test period to collect more data before proceeding to activate the principal.

In addition, some customer teams have expressed concerns about the last -minute changes in the range of upgrade, which complicated the test process. Ethereum’s modular development structure means that upgrades must be coordinated between several teams working on various execution and consensus customers, adding to complexity.

The Ethereum community has expressed mixed reactions to recent delays in Pectra upgrading. While some members are frustrated by reports, others appreciate the cautious approach to developers to ensure the stability of the network.

Despite these setbacks, many members of the community remain optimistic about the potential advantages of Pectra, in particular an improvement in the flexibility of the shuttle and an improved scalability

Fusaka upgrade

Although Pectra remains a priority, Ethereum developers are also progressing with the planning of Fusaka upgrade, which will follow Pecctra.

Fusaka will introduce the data availability sampling by peers (PEERDAS) to improve data management by allowing validators to sample data instead of downloading full data sets, by reducing bandwidth requirements.

It also implements the ETHEREUM virtual machine object format (EOF) to optimize the execution of intelligent contracts by allowing the separation and version of code of code, cost reduction for developers.

The Ethereum Core team has established a deadline of March 24 for Ethereum’s improvement proposals (EIPS) to be considered for inclusion. Customer teams should share their range preferences by March 31, with a gel of the provisional scope for April 10.

Ethereum developers remain determined to ensure stable and secure network upgrade. However, the multiple delays with Pectra underline the growing difficulty in the coordination of large -scale changes on Ethereum infrastructure while it continues to set up.
