The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has entered what its new co-executive directors call “a moment of transition and opportunity”, revealing a complete management of management and updated the strategic vision through three coordinated blog articles published on Monday, April 28.
Hsiao-wei Wang and Tomasz K. Stańczak, who jointly directed EF for “almost a month”, announced that the “honeymoon is over-it’s time to move”, reporting the end of an unusually silent workforce and the start of the stated sockets.
Ethereum’s first experience with co-executive leadership is considered a deliberate antidote to fragility at a point. “EF is not a two -headed car firing in different directions,” wrote Wang and Stéains. “Our relationship is built on mutual respect, confidence and shared values. We collaborate closely, defy each other constructively and, finally, let’s go ahead in the united team with shared objectives. ”
New era for the Ethereum Foundation
These objectives converge on three technical fronts for the next 12 months: layer 1 layer 1 of layer 1, scaling “blobs” with data availability and smoothing of the user experience through layer 2 and the application layer. Stańczak has promised “the speed of execution, the responsibility, the clear goals, the objectives and the metrics to follow”, adding that Ethereum Mainnet will remain “a global and neutral network, a protocol of trust to be without confidence”.
The structural overhaul extends beyond management. A separate position of the EF board of directors describes the Board of Directors as “as a Security Council to protect the heart and soul of the EF”, responsible for surveillance in terms of Swiss vision and regulatory compliance. Vitalik Buterin retains a seat of the board of directors and “continues to provide technical and intellectual advice”, while the president of the EF Aya Miyaguchi, the Swiss advisor Patrick Storchenegger, and Wang herself completes the current body of four members.
In particular, the Stéains operational mandate is in the event of deadlines: he accepted a two -year term in order to “take advantage of his expertise and experience of proven strategic execution” that the board of directors calls “a busy moment for the Ethereum ecosystem”. Wang’s simultaneous roles on the board of directors and management are intended to “serve as a bridge between the board of directors, managers and management”.
In a third post entitled Vision of the Ethereum Foundation, Miyaguchi and Buterin have overhauled EF as a goalkeeper of an “infinite garden” whose aim is to “remain resilient in the middle of changing environments”. They described the philosophy of the “deliberate subtraction” foundation, summarizing it in a concise refrain: “We do what no one else can do today. We help others do what we can do today. ”
Main priorities for 2025
The document initiates EF to maximize the significant use of ethereum – whether through native internet finance, decentralized social media or the coordination of chain AI – while simultaneously maximizing the “resilience of technical and social infrastructures of Ethereum”. This resilience is defined by the autonomy of ecosystems, the diversity of development teams and adhesion without compromise with fundamental values: resistance to censorship, open source, confidentiality and security.
Wang’s immediate priority is to “strengthen FE operations to support the growth of the ecosystem”, with a particular accent on the application layer. It promises “to improve the experience of developers and users, to clarify standards, to strengthen ecosystems and to smooth the journey of ideas to live applications”. Stańczak, still involved in the affiliations of Nethermind and Venture, will focus on scalability in the protocol and the architecture of layer 2.
The two directors highlight the importance of the visibility of the community. Expect what Devcon and other flagship rallies give “Applications and L2 Plus presence and attention” and so that the EF communication rate is accelerating. “We will be ready to enter difficult dialogues without delay,” noted Stańczak.
The three positions converge on a single imperative: 2025 must be the year when Ethereum proves that it can evolve without compromising its philosophy. Co-executive directors describe the months to come as “a journey through one of the most inspiring technological and societal changes we will ever know”, while Miyaguchi and Buterin recall readers that “the greatest advantage of Ethereum is its unequaled ecosystem”.
That the new double leadership model can translate this advantage into tangible progress on the main flow, the efficiency of Blobspace and UX with cross -reinforcement will be the first real test of the “next chapter” of EF. For the moment, the message of the foundation is unambiguous: the guard has changed, but “the values remain unchanged”.
At the time of the press, ETH exchanged $ 1.814.
