The upgrading of Pectra d’Ethereum is already live on Ephemery, a testnet of the blockchain network, in preparation for a launch of Mainnet of April.
On February 13, Tim Beiko, leader in the support of the Ethereum Foundation Protocol, wrote:
“Ephemery now supports Pectra!”
This confirms a declaration by Christine Kim, a digital researcher from Galaxy who revealed on X that Ethereum customers have focused on planning the key test forks to ensure a smooth transition to Pectra.
She said:
“All customer teams said today that they were on the right track to publish the Testnet final versions in the coming 24 hours.”
According to her, the Testnet Holesky fork is scheduled for February 24, while Sépolia will follow on March 5. These test deployments serve as critical trial sessions, allowing developers to identify and solve problems before the activation of maintenance.
Unless major loss, Pectra’s Mainnet deployment is expected about 30 days after the Sepolia fork.
Kim noted that the developers will finalize the Mainnet upgrade date and the horoditing only after Pecctra is live on Sepolia. In case of success, the upgrading of Pectra would most likely occur in April.
Faster network upgrades
Meanwhile, Nixo Rokish of the support team of the Ethereum Foundation Protocol noted that the main developers of Ethereum have argued for a more frequent upgrading cycle to improve the adaptability of the network.
Nixo said:
“A fairly strong consensus of the retrospective publication of Pectra that people want faster fork rates … This will mean less Dilly-Dally on the scope and opinions more aggressively presented.”
This is aligned with the points of view of industry leaders such as the paradigm, which stressed that Ethereum has the resources and talents necessary to implement upgrades more quickly. The venture capital company wrote:
“Ethereum has the resources she needs – incredible researchers and engineers wishing to build the future. Responsible them with a mandate to move more quickly and, in parallel, will allow Ethereum to solve problems faster and to avoid getting bogged down in premature debates. »»
Fusaka
Given this, it was not surprising that the developers quickly turned their attention to the next major upgrade of Ethereum, Fusaka.
Beiko revealed that the developers review the proposed protocol changes, with several high priority improvements considered. The deadline for submission of proposals is scheduled for March 13, allowing the community to weigh before March 27.
Meanwhile, a proposed calendar takes place on April 10 as the finalization date for the range of Fusaka upgrades. By defining the Fusaka setting early on, the developers aim to guarantee a transparent transition and an effective implementation process once Pectra is fully deployed.
