GAV IV update

It’s time for another update! So a little time after ðvcon-0, our internal developer conference. The conference itself was the ideal time to bring together all the developers and really know each other, dissipate a plot Information (back to back presentations for 5 days!) And discuss many ideas. The Comms team will publish each of the presentations as quickly as I can have them treated well.

Since the last update, many things have happened, in particular, finally, the publication of the Ethereum ðV website, ethdev.com. Although relatively simple as present, there are big plans to extend this to the portal of a developer in which you will be able to browse the Bogue bonus program, to look and, finally, to follow the didactics, to search for documentation, to find the latest binary for each platform and to see the progress of the versions.

As usual, I was mainly between Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Berlin, during this period. Now that ðV-Berlin is settled in the center, we have a large collaboration space in which volunteers can work, collaborate, link and socialize alongside our more formal hits. In recent times, I have worked to finish the formal specifications of Ethereum, the yellow paper, and that I am up to date with the latest changes in the protocol so that the safety audit begins. Together, we have put the final touch in the seventh, and probably the final code of proof of concept, largely delayed because of the desire to make it the final version of the POC for changes in the protocol. I also made beautiful refactoring and basic documentation, specifically removing two long -standing aversions from mine, the State :: Create and State :: Call methods and make the state class more pleasant to create personalized states useful during the development of contracts. You can expect to see the fruits of this work in Miletone II of Mix, Official Ide of Ethereum.

Recruitment in progress

On this note, I am happy to announce that we hired Arkadiy Paronyan, a talented developer from Russia who will work with Yann on the Mix Ide. He took a good start during his first week by helping on the front-end with the second milestone. I am also very happy to announce that we hired Gustav Simonsson. Being an Erlang Expert with Go Experience with considerable expertise in network programming and security revision, he will initially work with Jutta on the GO Code Base Security Audit before joining the GO team.

We also have two other recruits: Dimitri Khoklov and Jason Colby. I met Jason for the first time in the fateful week last January when the first Ethereum collaborators met for a week before the North American Bitcoin conference where Vitalik gave the first public speech on Ethereum. Jason, who moved to Berlin from his home in New Hampshire, works mainly alongside Aeron and Christian to help take care of the center and take care of various pieces of administration that must be made. Dimitri, who works from TVER in Russia, helps to expand our unit tests with Christoph, finally aimed at the complete coverage of the code.

We have several other recruits that I would like to mention but cannot yet announce – look at this space … (:

Current projects

I am happy to say that after a busy weekend, Marek, Caktox, Nick and Sven managed to obtain the construction bot, our system, relying again on the three platforms. A special cry goes to Marek who fought tirelessly with Cmake and MSVC to fold the Windows platform to his will. Bravo to all those involved.

Christian continues to pass through the Solidey project, now helped by Lefteris which focuses on the analysis and packaging of the Natspec documentation. The latest feature to be added allows you to create new contracts in a good way with the new keyword. Alex and Sven are starting to work on the project to introduce the network of networks in the P2P subsystem using the protruding parts of the DHT Kademlia design well proven. We should start to see some of these things in the code base before the end of the year.

I am also pleased to announce that the first successful message was sent between Go & C ++ customers on our hybrid messaging / hash-table, Coded Whisper. Although an early stage of proof of concept, the API is reasonably robust and fixed, so largely ready to prototyper applications.

New projects

Marian is the lucky guy who was responsible for developing what will be our great C&C game based on the web. This will provide a public website of which the back-end connects to a lot of nodes around the world and displays real-time information on the state of the network, including the length of the chain and an early alert system of the chain handle. Although accessible by anyone, we will of course have a dedicated instructor at any time for this page at the Hub.

Sven, Jutta and Heiko also started a most interesting and important project: the Ethereum stress test project. Designed to Study and Test the Network in A Range of Real-Life Adverse Situations Prior To Release, They will build infrastructure Allowing the Setup of Many (10s, 100s, Even 1000s of) Nodes Each Individually Remote-Controllables and Able to Simulate Circumstances Such as Isp Attacks, Net Splits, DEPARTURE OF LARGE LOVES OF HASH-POWER AND MEASURE LIKE BLOCK attributes & transaction propagation Times and patterns, UCLE RES and LESTHERS OF FORCE. A project to monitor.

Conclusions

The next time I write this, I hope I have published POC-7 and be on the way to the Alpha version (not to mention yellow paper). I expect Jeff to make an update regarding the side of things early. Until then, pay attention to the POC-7 version and exploit a Testtt ether!
