- A look at why Hedera is set to reap growing global market capitalization.
- Hbar sees limited decline, but weak increased demand is limited to upside.
Hedera (HBAR) is expected to be among the blockchain networks that could potentially benefit the most from stablecoin growth over the next three years.
The network is a strategic advantage that could allow it to tap into stable opportunities.
Hedera’s on-chain business increased significantly in Q4 2024, with TVL increasing by over $160 million.
There was also a notable increase in daily volume on the channel, from less than $1 million in early October to a daily average of over $10 million in December.
Although the above demonstrated an increase in network activity, it was still relatively low compared to other networks, especially those with TVL and volume figures in the billions.
And yet, investors are more optimistic about Hedera and HBAR’s prospects, now more than ever.
Hedera draws on exposure to the stable
The global stablecoin market capitalization recently surpassed $212 billion, marking a new all-time high. However, current projections suggest that stablecoin market capitalization growth will be exponential in the coming years.
Current expectations are that they will increase to $2.8 trillion by 2028.
Hedera could be on the fast track to being one of the blockchains that could benefit from this growth at Worldpay. The latter processes transactions on the Hedera network.
One of the main reasons WorldPay is a big Hedera deal is that it processes transactions for major global financial institutions. This includes MasterCard, Visa, Wells Fargo and Bank of America.
The adoption of stablecoins into the mainstream could thus bring more transactions to Hedera.
Hbar creates bullish momentum
Hbar demonstrated limited secondary selling pressure after its all-time ATH was achieved on January 17th. It fell just over 21% at its lowest price last week, followed by a resurgence in demand midweek.
It has already managed a 13% increase from its lowest weekly price on January 23, to a high of $0.354 seen in the last 24 hours.
Demand grew in the premises and derivatives segments. Point flows have changed from negative to positive, although point flows have remained relatively weak over the past two days.
Derivatives volume dropped to $345.17 million in the last 24 hours. This was the lowest volume recorded since mid-January.

Open interest increased by 4.65% to $421.59 million in the last 24 hours. There has also been a slight drop in open interest funding rates over the past 24 hours.
This indicated that the prevailing optimistic demand was relatively weak. A limited downside reported is that investors are opting to HODL most of their coins.
