For those who haven’t been following the case, the SEC deemed that Ether (ETH) was sold as an unregistered stock, citing concerns that it was being sold without following certain rules and protocols. However, Ethereum proponents have argued that because the network is decentralized, it doesn’t meet the criteria of an investment contract or security.
