In a livestream on Monday, the founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, delivered a frank and passionate criticism of what he described as a “constant incessant naked criticism” and “destructive” tactics in the discussions of governance of the project. His remarks were caused by a tweet of a longtime community member, known as Ada North Pool, who announced his intention to leave the Cardano ecosystem after two years of dedicated work on initiatives of governance.
Cardano governance problems
Hoskinson opened his video by reading a tweet of Verbatim’s word from Ada North Pool, who wrote, in part: “By thinking of leaving the Cardano community for good. SO. Fatigue. I worked my ass for 2 years and I sacrificed a lot. I wrote justifications for ICC in the hospital with my son. What I see on Twitter is that the constitution is shit and that the lawyers of the FC could have done it better. »»
Hoskinson stressed that this departure represents a painful signal on the state of the speech surrounding the governance of Cardano. The founder described the member of the community as a “good friend” and stressed that “he is not healthy for an ecosystem to take people who have worked there since 2018 and criticize the work of this person I do not see No value to stay. »»
Throughout the Livestream, Hoskinson has repeatedly made a distinction between legitimate criticism – supported by alternative proposals – and simple negativity. He warned that: “If you are going to criticize, you have the obligation to present an alternative and to say why this alternative is superior. Otherwise, we will not have anywhere.
He also underlined the time and substantial expenses invested within the framework of Cardano Constitution and Governance, stressing that “people who wrote constitutions for nation states were involved” and that more than “1,800 people from 50 different countries “Contributed to the drafting process. While Hoskinson acknowledged that the resulting document “is not a perfect document”, he argued that the plan intentionally leaves “place to interpretation” and was produced by in -depth and meticulous negotiations.
One of the central themes of Hoskinson was the risk of alienating basic contributors if the Cardano community allows destructive debates to overshadow constructive collaboration. He underlined the need for the ecosystem to welcome a discussion on roadmaps, budgets and future development in a way that does not turn into personal attacks or total rejection of the work of others.
“When do you get the benefit of doubt?” If you put 10 years in your life and put all these efforts and you have done your best every day to do the good of everyone (…) when you throw yourself in the sponge and just say f *** All and descend?
Hoskinson has deplored that if the community continues with a “toxic” approach, “you will lose all your good people and that you are not going to have nothing.” For the future, Hoskinson described the plans to focus on the roadmap for the Cardano project this month and dive into the budget next month. He pointed out that a solid discussion – rather than a leaks or sensational charges – is essential to ensure long -term prosperity of the ecosystem.
He urged those who disseminated “disclosed budgets” and concluded that transforming complex planning documents into sources of “Salaces scandals” only derails governance efforts: “The flight of intermediate forms is shameful. He does not reach anything and it harms the ecosystem. He invites criticism to criticism, and it is a destructive process. »»
At the same time, Hoskinson reiterated that everyone in the ecosystem – in particular the newly elected delegated representatives (DREP) must decide whether they want to be “constructive or destructive” and how they intend to promote a culture that feeds collaboration on cynicism.
The Livestream of Hoskinson combined both a plea and a warning. He implored the Cardano community to reflect on their roles in the culture of a healthy governance environment, clearly indicating that: “A social system requires recognition that certain people are not bad actors and that they make their Better to do good things. If your standard is that each person is the enemy, you will simply burn your ecosystem on the ground. »»
Despite the frustrations broadcast, Hoskinson expressed his optimism that Cardano can always be distinguished from other blockchain projects by confronting the problems of front governance, rather than ignoring them. He said he would continue to “push this and do everything in my power” to ensure that the ecosystem converges on a productive result “.
He added: “I think our best days are in front of us. We can gain the right to be better than the place where the world is currently by the way we work together. Let us focus on being productive, constructive and working in the right direction. »»
At the time of the press, Ada exchanged $ 0.7,949.
