The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, detained in France since last August, obtained temporary permission to leave the country for Dubai.
Agence France Presse (AFP) reported on the news on Saturday. Shortly after, the cryptocurrency market reacted.
Toncoin (tone), the digital token linked to the Telegram Open Network (tone), experienced a spectacular increase in its trading volume, increasing by more than 15% after the announcement.

The tone token, currently estimated at $ 3.34, was a key development in Telegram blockchain initiatives.
In addition, Notcoin (not), a token for a popular mini-applation of Tap-to-Garn on the platform, also experienced a rally, increasing by more than 12.7% at the time of publication.
Durov, a billionaire Russian exile who founded the popular Telegram messaging application in 2013, faces several charges related to the permission of organized crime.
The authorities have enabled Durov to leave for Dubai, AFP reported citing an anonymous source. This decision follows a decision of an investigated judge who accepted Durov’s request to modify the conditions for his supervision several days ago.

Durov, 40, has been investigated for several offenses, including accusations related to terrorism, drug trafficking, fraud, money laundering and the content of children’s abuse on the Telegram platform.
He was initially arrested in August following his indictment, which led to the ban on his departure from the country.
Durov tackled legal challenges in a statement published on his official telegram channel in September. Expressing his surprise at the accusations, Durov criticized the French authorities for bypassing the official communication channels with the Telegram EU representative and questioning it directly. He argued that the holding of a CEO responsible for crimes allegedly committed by others on a platform – in particular the operation under pre -scartphone laws – was an “erroneous approach”.
In his declaration, Durov also defended Telegram moderation practices, highlighting the daily efforts of the platform to delete harmful content and its connections established with NGOs for urgent requests. Despite the legal problems, he reaffirmed his commitment to ensure the security of the vast base of users of Telegram, which now totals nearly a billion people.
While the investigation continues, Durov’s legal battles should remain a subject of significant attention, especially since the initiatives of the Telegram cryptocurrency continue to develop.
It remains to be seen whether the latest legal developments will have long -term effects on Telegram operations or the value of its associated tokens.
