Mayor Eric Adams said he was planning to count much more on artificial intelligence to help New Yorkers if he was re-elected to a second term.
“We are going to lead a more intelligent city,” he said at the post on Thursday during an interview with the Mansion Gracie.

“I’m talking about having the opportunity to use everything, from artificial intelligence to blockchain, new technologies that could make our city more intelligent, so that our working class can get the right service.”
An explored example is to use blockchain technology to speed up the process of providing copies of birth and death certificates, said the mayor’s office.
Another uses AI to quickly translate English into other languages if necessary, such as helping authorities to better help victims when they use voice -controlled drones during research and rescue missions and other emergencies.
Adams adopted the technology industry and digital currency since he became mayor in 2022 because he has committed to making New York the world capital of crypto.
He put his money where his mouth early by agreeing to take his first three pay checks in Bitcoin. Adams, which earns $ 258,750 per year as mayor, said Bitcoin value ranging from $ 5,000 to almost $ 55,000 in its financial disclosure statement for 2024 filed with the New York Participation Conflict Commission.
