At the Dutch week of the Blockchain 2025, Thierry Baudet, the face of the forum for democracy (FVD), traced an ambitious roadmap for a blockchain future. His vision reduces conventional banking systems, offering an unrelated financial ecosystem in place.
From direct management of wages to crypto to the rationalization of daily purchases, Baudet painted blockchain as more than innovation – it is a revolution in the way people engage with their money.
Defend freedom in the Dutch weekly week
The presence of Baudet in the Dutch week of the blockchain, held from May 19 to 25 in Amsterdam, sent a strong message that the crypto is more than the game of a speculator.
“I want to support the community – from programmers to startups,” said Baudet. “Blockchain can release people from central banks and government control.”

Baudet clearly indicated that he intended to change the traditional political perceptions of the crypto. Often rejected as speculative or even criminal, Baudet maintains that blockchain is a revolutionary technology. His call for action was that the Netherlands seized the opportunity to become a world cryptography center.
For Baudet, Crypto represents the freedom of inflationary policies which he blames on central banks which print unlimited money.
“This is only inflation and strengthens government control,” he said, praising Bitcoin’s capped bitcoin as a rare example of financial independence.
“With CBDC, governments will know what you buy and where,” he warned. “The blockchain gives people to their freedom and their privacy.”
The Netherlands as cryptographic capital
Baudet plans a future where the Netherlands lead Europe in the innovation of blockchain. “We can become the Silicon valley of the North Sea,” he said, noting the unique mix of freedom and entrepreneurship in the country.
He praised the Dutch Blockchain week as the ideal platform to position the Netherlands as an crypto center. With speakers from Bitvavo, Abn Amro and Deloitte, the event brought together the visionaries of the future of the blockchain. “The energy here is incredible,” said Baudet. “It is our chance to lead in the 21st century.”

However, the question remains whether the vision alignments with the strict regulatory landscape of Europe.
Baudet called both politicians and startups to advance cryptographic space.
“Stop seeing crypto as games of chance or crime,” he said, describing it as an opportunity to propel the Netherlands forward. His advice to startups was just as clear. “We need companies like Monflow connecting the crypto to daily life,” he said.
