We are pleased to announce the launch of a large -scale translation program for Ethereum.org, which will translate the website and other resources in more than 15 languages.
Ethereum is a global project and it is essential that ethereum.org reflects our global community. Since the revival of the website, our team has given priority to the organization of a translation program ensuring that resources on Ethereum are accessible to all, whatever their nationality or language.
Today, we are delighted to launch our first complete translation: a Korean version of the website, available now on Ethereum.org/ko. In the coming weeks, our program will widen by initially emphasizing the realization of translations in simplified, Japanese, Russian, German and Italian Chinese. This initial set of languages was chosen according to the search volume for Ethereum and the associated terms, as well as traffic to websites linked to Ethereum.
Although this effort initially focuses on the translation of Ethereum.org, it will extend over time to include translations of significant community resources such as documentation, guides, blog articles, etc.
The translation program will combine translations carried out by volunteers, project management by the Ethereum Foundation team and professional translation services when necessary to fill gaps or provide audits.
Do you want to contribute to the translation effort for a specific language? We are looking for volunteers from the Ethereum world community to join teams specific to a language. We encourage you to Learn more and get involved here.
Ethereum is an essential infrastructure for all humanity, and Ethereum.org should reflect the diversity we see during hackathons and regular events around the world. With the launch today of Ethereum.org/ko And the Ethereum.org translation program, we took one more step towards the reflection of the most important element of our ecosystem: our community.
A special thank you to Taeyeon Kim, who managed the translation program, and to the team of volunteers who have translated Ethereum.org/ko:: Daniel Jee, Hyungsuk Kang, Jeongmoo Heo, Jumin Lee, Sangphil Kim, Suhun Kim, Wanseob Lim and Yeong Hun Ryu.
