Geneva, Switzerland, November 10, 2025 — TRON DAOthe community-run DAO dedicated to accelerating Internet decentralization through blockchain technology and decentralized applications (dApps), successfully concluded its educational workshops with the Blockchain Clubs of Columbia University and Harvard University on November 7 and 8, respectively. These institutions expand TRON DAO’s academic network, which already includes world-class universities such as Imperial College London, Yale University, Dartmouth College, Princeton University, MIT, Cornell University, and the University of California, Berkeley.
As part of its ongoing commitment to blockchain education and talent development, TRON DAO has expanded its academic reach through the TRON Academy initiative, a global program designed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world blockchain applications. TRON Academy supports student-led blockchain organizations with funding, educational resources, and hands-on industry exposure.
TRON DAO held “Introduction to TRON” sessions at Columbia University and Harvard University. During the workshops, Sam Elfarra, Community Spokesperson for the TRON DAO, introduced students to the TRON ecosystem and key Web3 sectors, including payments finance (PayFi), covering real-time settlement, cross-border transactions and touched on the broader decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape.
“Investing in early blockchain education is fundamental to building a sustainable and innovative Web3 ecosystem,” said Elfarra. “Through TRON Academy, we are committed to supporting emerging talent by providing students with the support of knowledge, resources and real-world connections to help them become future blockchain innovators. »
Students also explored comparative frameworks between blockchain-based financial infrastructure and traditional banking systems, discussing the challenges and opportunities of transitioning between these two ecosystems. The Columbia University workshop attracted approximately 30 students, while the Harvard University session hosted 20-30 participants, reflecting a strong and growing enthusiasm for Web3 innovation among student communities. Following the workshops, the TRON DAO team held interviews with student club presidents to gather feedback and ideas, find out what’s driving Web3 conversations within student communities as well as TRON’s positioning.
Through initiatives like TRON Academy, TRON DAO continues to connect blockchain innovation with academic excellence, equipping future leaders with the knowledge and resources needed to advance a decentralized digital economy. By fostering collaboration between industry and academia, TRON DAO reaffirms its commitment to responsible blockchain education, sustainable innovation, and the development of talent that will shape the next chapter of Web3.
