THE Pectra testnet activation The problems revealed in customers with modifications to configuration of deposit contract on Ethereum tests. While The recovery of Sepolia was simple and the network has since completely restored, Holesky has experienced large leaks of inactivity as part of its recovery mechanism.
The Holesky network has since finally finalized, but outgoing validators would take approximately a year to be completely removed from all validators (¹). While stakers can test the deposits, consolidations and all other Pectra characteristics, the size of the output queue prevents the housediophysis from being used to test the life cycle of the complete validator within a reasonable time.
To remedy this, a new testnet has been launched: Hood. He will activate the upgrading of the Pectra network at the time 2048 (Wednesday March 26, 2025 07:37:12 UTC).
To move forward, stake operators and infrastructure providers should use Hoodi for validator tests. To give time for migration, the Holesky Testnet will be taken care of until September 2025. Aside from the Validator outings, all other Pectra features can be tested on Holesky.
Summary of tests and their goal
- Truant: Validators and providers of stake (end of life scheduled for September 30, 2025). Customers’ developers will also use Holesky to test gas limit increases and other protocol stress tests.
- Sepolia: Application and tool developers (end of life expected on September 30, 2026)
- Hood: Validators and providers of jealization (end of life expected on September 30, 2028)
- Planned replacement of Sepolia: Expected launch date from March 2026
