EXCLUSIVE: Blockchain streamer Vabble has launched an on-demand trading service, starting with a three-part docuseries about a cryptocurrency accelerator.
The founding community of the Alliance is at the origin of the first broadcast of the TVOD service, Minimum viable productwhich gives a glimpse into the accelerator’s MVP hackathon, where new products were developed by groups of coders in New York City. Tommy Walters and Zipline Media led the creation.
Over two weeks, the series follows 20 development teams competing for $350,000 in funding. The winning project will be inducted into the next cohort of the Alliance Accelerator and will benefit from the guidance of a team that has incubated some of the most prominent projects in the crypto industry.
Alliance co-founders Imran Khan and Qiao Wang evaluate each project, breaking them down to their basic components to assess their viability as sustainable businesses. The series seeks to show what life is like in a startup.
The TVOD platform was launched earlier this month when it went live. It will operate using cryptocurrency.
A “Watch and Talk” supplement will be added soon, featuring the final episode of Minimum viable product will be released this week. It will be a discussion between Khan, Alliance Marketing Lead and CC0 Studios Founder, and Joe McNaney, the hackathon winner and a prominent member of Vabble’s Content Council.
This interactive session will aim to provide deeper insights into the creative process, challenges teams face, and the future of blockchain technology.
Vabble is one of several crypto-based streaming platforms, many of which aim to empower filmmakers by decentralizing the ordering process and allowing them to upload their own content. When it launched, the company’s founders claimed to have identified imbalances in the film distribution ecosystem and planned to offer an alternative to Hollywood studios and other majors.
Vabble’s board of directors includes former CBS Studios sales executive Barry Chamberlain, former IMAX distribution executive Philip Groves, eOne marketing executive Joanna Miles and former Universal Pictures executive vice president John C. Hall on its advisory board.
