Dublin, Ireland, April 11, 2025, Chainwire
Ab Charity Foundation has officially launched its global operations and unveiled its newly upgraded website on www.ab.org, marking the start of a public interest initiative built on institutional credibility and advanced blockchain technology. Based in Ireland with a legal status recognized under EU law, the Foundation is positioned as a global non -profit entity committed to reshaping the future of public and sustainable development by punching governments, civil society and the technological community.
The governance of the Foundation is led by an eminent board of directors made up of former heads of state in Europe. The board of directors is chaired by Bertie Ahern, former Prime Minister of three mandates of Ireland and key architect of the Good Friday agreement. The members of the Board of Directors include Lawrence Gonzi (former Prime Minister of Malta), Péter Medgyssy (former Prime Minister of Hungary), Danilo Türk (former president of Slovenia) and Petar Stoyanov (former president of Bulgaria).
The Foundation actively extends its global advisory council, bringing together respected personalities from the five continents – including former presidents, scientists, diplomats and cultural leaders – to guide strategic planning and promote international collaboration to provide impacting social initiatives.
At the heart of the foundation’s mission is a commitment to the public good: to advance global efforts in education, health care, environmental protection and humanitarian aid. The Foundation aims to build a “verifiable model of cooperative good will”, powered by transparent governance and new generation technology. As its founders indicate, “it is not a specific technology that changes the world, but the consensus shared around institutions worthy of trust and global cooperation”.
Ab Charity Foundation is technically supported by AB Dao, which provides the blockchain infrastructure that underpins the operations of the Foundation. Thanks to the automation of intelligent contracts, 15% to 30% of the gas costs of each transaction on the public channel AB is directed to a dedicated charity pool. This mechanism allows a new operational model for charity financing – combining fundraising on the chain, automated distribution, chain audit and third -party compliance insurance.
In addition, 15% to 30% of the yields generated by investments by the AB ecosystem fund will also be directed to the foundation pool. The fund has already supported dozens of projects, with more initiatives during pipeline, which is the financial sustainability of the mission of the Foundation.
By taking advantage of the inherent transparency of the blockchain, the foundation aspires to become an evolutionary model for new generation philanthropic infrastructures – the inscription of each donation is traceable, each verifiable distribution and all the intention honored.
