Artificial intelligence is approaching its role in web3, because the number of decentralized applications (DAPP) powered by AI and their active users have increased this year, according to Dappradar.
The DAPPs supported by AI saw 4.8 million active daily active portfolios in May, representing growth of 23% and showing that they “settled regularly in the decentralized ecosystem”, wrote Dappradar’s analyst in a DAPP report on June 5 for May.
“The decentralized AI applications are difficult for games and distrust in the DAPP ecosystem,” added Gherghelas.
Decentralized (DEFI) and Blockchain’s decentralized financing games have been among the largest applications for years by the total locked value and users on most blockchains, and Gherghelas said that the DAPPs fed by AI are not only about media, but a trend “reflecting a broader societal change towards open technologies and belonging to users”.
The report noted that the most efficient DAPPs last month remain largely consistent, highlighting the high stay of the first market leaders.
The best DAPP AI for May was LOL, which has 2 million daily active wallets. The platform uses a bot ai to analyze laughter and reward users with tokens after having determined how happy they are.
DAPPRADAR also reported that the most notable newcomer in the ranking is SUBHUB, a web3 notification and marketing 3 platform improved by AI-A-ENHANCED developed by Dmail which had 82,000 unique active wallets in May.
“Subhub integration of intelligent messaging and targeting based on the portfolio also strengthens the story that social DAPPs and AI are increasingly linked,” wrote Gherghelas.

Dappradar also said that 77% of Americans believe that decentralized AI would be more beneficial than centralized models, according to a Harris survey conducted in May.
In addition, 56% of respondents prefer the development of AI occurring via decentralized systems, he noted.
“These data underline a cultural change, which aligned with the ethics of web transparency, possession of users and anti-monopoly values,” said Gherghelas.
