Announce a grant from the Ethereum Foundation to parity technologies

The Ethereum Foundation is delighted to announce a scalability, usability and security subsidy of five million dollars (USD) to parity technologies.

For several years, Parity Technologies has been an invaluable member of the Ethereum ecosystem for their leadership in basic development efforts, their Ethereum parity customer and more. Their work continued at a flamboyant pace. At Devcon4 in Prague, members of the parity team presented their plans to develop an implementation of serenity, by preventing an exciting direction for the years to come.

According to all measures, parity is a major technical contributor to the Ethereum project, and they have notably done it as a self -funded and open effort from their foundation.

The Ethereum Foundation undertakes to finance teams and individuals who build the common infrastructure around scalability, conviviality and security. To this end, we could not think of a more applicable adjustment for a subsidy given the constant push of parity to raise the technical bar and their concentration in evidence on the progress of the next generation such as proof of assistance, the fragment and the cassette.

We have been delighted to see our ecosystem gathering and supporting technical merit and alignment of value, and we devote ourselves to the use of our resources to advance this mission. We do so responsible for subsidies based on stages to projects, large and small, proportional to the potential impact of their work.

This subsidy will finance Parity’s work on Casper, Sharding, Light customers, Developer Tools, QA, Audits and Infrastructure Improvements. Funding will be delivered in several tranches, the first of which supports the development that parity has already completed. Others depend on the explicit milestones that include:

  • EWASM compatibility work completion

  • Shipping a light portfolio for Mainnet.

  • The success of Phase 0 and phase 1 breaking.

We are grateful to the hard work and the commitment of Parity Technologies towards Ethereum, and we hope that this subsidy recalls how they have already contributed, as well as an indicator of an exciting future. Please join us to congratulate parity technologies for having received this great subsidy from the Ethereum Foundation.
