Arbitrage is in vogue again, but traders aren’t quite convinced – why?

Real-world assets (RWA) on the Arbitrum (ARB) network are expanding beyond the usual treasury-focused narrative. Meanwhile, ARB is once again in the center of attention ahead of its upcoming token unlock.

Here’s what you need to know.

Arbitrum’s RWA Market Goes Beyond Treasuries

RWA tokenized on Arbitrum now stands at around $840 million, almost 3 times more than a year ago!

However, it is not so much the growth that matters, but rather the force behind it. By early 2025, the RWA market on Arbitrum was largely a US Treasury business.

But now EU government bonds lead with a market capitalization of around $374 million, followed by US Treasuries with $178 million, stocks with $171 million and commodities with $93 million.

This is important because we now know that Arbitrum’s RWA business is becoming less dependent on a single asset class.

ARB Leads Trending Pieces Amid Buzz

On Santiment’s Coin Trends Dashboard for Tuesday, Arbitrum appeared at the top of the discussion list, ahead of names like GameStop, Solana, Chainlink, Ethereum, and Gigachad.

The main reason appears to be the upcoming ARB token unlock, with crypto news publications reporting around $13.12 million in unlocks for the week of May 11-17. At the same time, community conversations were also focused on possible airdrop mechanisms, claim checks, and ARB-related tools such as airdrop calculators.

Is there some pressure on ARB’s price action?

On the 4-hour chart, the price was trading around $0.1328 after sliding from the $0.145 area to $0.146 earlier in the week.

ARB formed a lower-high pattern with the price attempting to stabilize near the $0.13 area. The dynamics were not yet completely favorable either.

The RSI indicated that buyers had not regained control. The MACD was also negative, with the MACD line below the signal line and the red histogram bars still visible.

So, despite the positive buzz and network activity, the token’s price implied that traders were perhaps still waiting for confirmation before becoming bullish.

Final summary

  • Arbitration The value of RWAs soared to nearly $840 million as European bonds outpaced U.S. Treasuries.
  • Despite the growing buzz, traders remain cautious about price direction.
