Argentina’s Ministry of Education has partnered with the ETH Kipu Foundation to integrate Ethereum and blockchain technology into the Buenos Aires high school curriculum, according to a recent announcement.

The program aims to equip high school students in Buenos Aires with knowledge about Ethereum and blockchain technology. This initiative is expected to prepare participants for a technology-driven economy and position Argentina at the forefront of other Latin American countries.

Paula D., co-founder of ETH Kipu, stressed that this program will create new career opportunities for young people and place Argentina at the forefront of the global blockchain movement.

She added:

“By bringing Ethereum education into high schools, we’re not just teaching students about technology: we’re giving them the tools to shape the future.”

Education on Ethereum

Starting August 27, high school students in Buenos Aires will have the chance to participate in internships on blockchain projects.

Additionally, the program offers a Solidity online course for 500 students aged 18 and over. This course is designed to give them the skills needed to develop dApps on the Ethereum blockchain network.

To ensure the success of the program, 30 teachers from the city will be trained to teach subjects related to Ethereum and blockchain. The framework developed under this initiative could be extended to other regions.

Romina, another co-founder of ETH Kipu, said she was excited about the progress of the project. She said:

“It started a few months ago, with courses for +100 articulators from the Ministry of Education, then with a launch event for 200 high school students and now it is taking shape with these 3 action points mentioned in the document.”

Cryptography Education

This development is part of a global movement towards blockchain and cryptocurrency education.

Several organizations, including Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, have advanced blockchain education in Africa and other regions to prepare individuals for the digital age through innovative learning opportunities.

More recently, El Salvador launched a Bitcoin training and certification program for 80,000 civil servants.

Market observers believe that these educational efforts will further foster innovation and adoption of blockchain technology.
