Arthus Hayes Says ZEC Will Overtake XRP, Ditches ETH, ENA and Others

BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes predicted Zcash would outperform Ripple’s XRP, while Arkham Intelligence said it was abandoning Ethereum and other cryptos.

All Hayes wants for Christmas is ZEC

In a follow-up X-post, Hayes said that all he wants for Christmas is ZEC.

Zcash is currently the 12th largest cryptocurrency with a market capitalization of $11.014 billion. XRP ranks fourth with a market capitalization above $135.78 billion.

Hayes’ interest in ZEC comes amid a meteoric rally for the altcoin in recent weeks. The privacy coin surged more than 22% last week, 217% last month, and 1,628% over the 12 months.

Despite Hayes’ comments, it fell 4% in the past 24 hours to trade at $672.77 as of 2:04 a.m. EST, according to CoinMarketCap.

Earlier this week, Hayes predicted that the ZEC/BTC pair will climb to 0.2, from $0.00714 currently, according to TradingView data. If his prediction comes true, ZEC would gain approximately 2,701% compared to the cryptocurrency leader.

Recently, Hayes also urged investors who hold ZEC on centralized exchanges to withdraw their crypto into self-custodial wallets “and keep it safe.”

Hayes abandons other cryptos

While Hayes may be bullish on ZEC, the crypto mogul appears to have reduced many holdings in other digital assets amid the recent market downturn.

In a post earlier today, on-chain analytics firm Lookonchain, citing data from Arkham Intelligence, said Hayes was “heavily emptying his bags.”

According to the post, Hayes sold 260 ETH worth $820,000, 2.4 million ENA worth $651,000, 640,000 LDO worth $480,000, 1,630 AAVE worth $289,000, and 28,670 UNI worth $209,000. 000 $.

ETH, UNI and AAVE gained 1%, 3% and 0.5% respectively in the last 24 hours. Conversely, the ENA and the LDO lost more than 1% and 0.4%.
