This approach not only boosts the economy but also offsets the environmental impact of traditional cryptocurrency mining methods. By investing in green cryptocurrencies, Bhutan hopes to attract large conglomerates and meet their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) targets.
The country's ambitious plan depends on expanding its hydropower generation capacity to 33 gigawatts, with plans to generate 15 gigawatts in the next 10-15 years.
