The blockchain sandbox MMO EVE Frontier seems desperate to remind players that it has gameplay to offer and not just some weird money pit tied to pointless digital scarcity (i.e. blockchain technology). For example, its latest dev blog, which focuses on the expanded playspace in its latest test build and what players will need to consider.
The so-called Phase V test version added 22,223 stars, each with its own collection of planets, moons, asteroid belts and megastructures for players to try to find. They will need to exercise caution in doing so, however, as they will need to carefully manage their ship’s fuel, consider possible dangers from existing inhabitants and other players, and deal with the “light pressure” of over-expanding unless players work together. to survive.
As colonies are found and established, the blog notes that they may not be permanent at all times, as shifting resources, infrastructure needs, and raw material mechanics can potentially collapse a colony if its inhabitants are not careful. It all reads a little more conceptual than mechanical, but it focuses on gameplay – and seems to be trying to hide the fact that this is a blockchain-related game.
