BNB Chain leads AI with 39.9% share: why is its token still lagging behind?

BNB

BNB Chain is shaping up to be a major player in the rapidly growing AI agent segment. However, this pace has not translated into a rise in the prices of its native token.

As AI-driven storytelling gains traction in crypto, will Binance Coin (BNB) catch up or continue to fall behind in its network’s progression?

BNB Chain Dominates AI Agent Activity

According to the latest data, BNB Chain accounts for 39,072 AI agents, or 39.9% of the total share, significantly ahead of Base at 19.7% and Ethereum (ETH) at 14.8%. The platform is also relatively dominant compared to emerging ecosystems like Monad and MegaETH. Each remains less than 10%.

BNB Chain processes over 500,000 AI agent transactions daily, representing more than just passive growth. The platform keeps users engaged, making it the current leader in the AI agent segment.

Prices lag, derivatives remain defensive

This ecosystem lead still hasn’t translated into a clean recovery for BNB, and the charts show why. At the time of writing, BNB remains approximately 25.9% below its early 2026 high on the daily chart. The price was trading near $644 from the previous peak zone around $869.

The pace has improved from February’s low, but not quite. At press time, the RSI was at 47.5, still below a bullish threshold, while the MACD was positive but flattening. Things are improving, but not at the speed enthusiasts would like.

The derivatives figures also seem equally fragile. The aggregate open interest (OI) dropped to around $539.9 million, and on the other hand, the average funding rate was -0.0008. This means that traders were still slightly biased towards the short side.

BNB Chain may be winning the AI agent race in terms of usage, but the token itself is still trading in a market that has not fully reassessed this lead.

Final summary

  • BNB Chain leads the AI agent race with 40% market share. However, the price of BNB is down 25% year to date.
  • The market has yet to fully factor in BNB Chain’s AI dominance.
