Binance Coin (BNB) appeared to be under increasing pressure, driven more by technical structure than broader market weakness. At press time, the altcoin was trading near $650 after falling 1.25% in the past 24 hours.
Commercial activity also slowed down sharply during the same period. Volume fell 51.9% to nearly $772 million, suggesting traders remain cautious about current levels.
This slowdown aligns with weakening momentum over longer periods.
Why is BNB turning bearish?
The BNB daily chart has started showing bearish signals near the upper boundary of a parallel channel pattern that has existed since February 2026.
Historically, the altcoin faced repeated selling pressure whenever the price approached the $680 area.

This time the setup was similar. BNB formed a bearish inverted hammer candle before subsequently printing a large engulfing candle.
This trend hinted at another possible rejection of channel resistance.
Based on the current structure, BNB appears to hold immediate support near $648. However, a break below this level could intensify downward pressure.
If BNB closes a daily candle below $648, the asset could fall another 11.5% towards the $578 region. This area aligned with the lower boundary of the channel pattern.
Nonetheless, the bearish pattern could weaken if the bulls regain control above $690.
In addition to this, the average directional index (ADX) stood at 34.75 at the time of publication. The result suggests that trend strength remains elevated, with momentum favoring sellers.
What do derivatives traders do?
Data derived from CoinGlass reflected increasing bearish positioning among short-term traders.
BNB’s Long/Short ratio stood at 0.8407, showing that bearish bets outweighed bullish positioning in the derivatives markets.

This change aligns with the broader technical weakness visible on the daily chart.
However, long-term holders seemed less fearful.
Spot inflow and outflow data revealed that exchanges saw over $14 million in BNB outflows over the past 48 hours. This trend often indicated accumulation as investors moved their assets into private wallets.

Can ETF Optimism Support BNB?
Despite the bearish technical setup, ETF optimism continued to grow around BNB.
Recent reports suggest that asset managers Grayscale and VanEck have submitted changes to their BNB Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) spot deposits in the United States.
Following the development, a Bloomberg ETF analyst said the changes could improve the chances of approval in the near term.
This left BNB stuck between weakening short-term momentum and improving long-term institutional interest.
Final summary
- BNB was at risk of a deeper correction after repeated rejections near the $680 resistance zone.
- Derivatives traders have been trending bearish, with the Long/Short ratio falling to 0.8407 at press time.
