The layer 2 blockchain network built on Bitcoin (BOB) has deployed a major technical upgrade which brings it closer to obtaining a fully decentralized brand on L2Beat, a platform that classifies the maturity and decentralization of layer 2 networks.

Bob, which aims to provide decentralized financing capacities of Ethereum (DEFI) in Bitcoin, has implemented zero knowledge fraud tests (ZK) in an optimistic Rollup framework.

This means that Bob uses an optimistic roller structure but replaces the traditional and slow verification process of fraud with faster ZK fraud evidence, a change that resolves transaction litigation in a few minutes using cryptographic tests.

The new implementation aims to reduce friction for users and reduce the barrier to participating in network security.
