The POTUS also used strange language that was detected as a meme-style image of a fabricated post by Grok.
US President Donald Trump’s controversial and contrasting actions and comments regarding the war in Iran continue, with the latest examples emerging in the past 24 hours.
The question now is when and how bitcoin will ultimately react, as it remained unusually calm over the weekend. Will history repeat itself and fall later today?
Latest war news
Although this weekend was dull in terms of price action, it was actually very eventful on the war front between the United States, Israel and Iran. It began with new threats from Trump that Iran would have 48 hours to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or else it would rain “hell” on the country.
Then he declared Tuesday “Power Plants and Bridges Day,” suggesting that these key infrastructures will be the next attacks. Meanwhile, a US Navy SEAL team extracted the ejected US F-15E pilot from Iran in what was described as a “massive operation” involving hundreds of special operations troops and military personnel.
U.S. intelligence officials say Iran is unlikely to open the strait anytime soon because it is the country’s main bargaining chip. However, the POTUS reportedly said a few hours ago that the United States and Iran have opened negotiations regarding the strait and that they believe they can reach a deal by Monday. If they don’t, Trump plans to “blow the whole thing up,” the report added.

Previously, one of his articles on Truth Social, which used unprecedented language from a sitting president, even fooled Grok, as the AI platform called it a “meme-style image of a fabricated Trump article.” The caveat, however, is that the post is real and is still active on Trump’s social media page.

When will Bitcoin react?
Despite all these escalations and mixed messages, the price of BTC remained exceptionally stable at around $67,000 throughout the weekend. The question now is when will the reaction come?
Bitcoin showed a similar lack of volatility several times during the previous eventful weekends after the war began. However, once traditional financial markets began to open up on Sunday evening and Monday morning, their volatility returned, generally heading south.
