The Commitoy Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) launched a “Sprint Crypto” initiative to provide additional regulatory clarity for digital asset trading.
The acting president of the CFTC, Caroline D. Pham, said that the initiative concerns the contracts for cryptographic assets in trading which are listed on the term scholarships recorded by CFTC, called designated contractual markets (DCMS).
“Under the solid leadership and vision of President Trump, the CFTC is at full speed to allow immediate trade in digital assets at the federal level in coordination with the Crypto project of the SEC.
There is a clear and simple solution that CFTC can implement now. The law on the exchange of raw materials currently requires that the retail trade of products with the leverage, the margin or the financing be made on a DCM. From today, we invite all stakeholders to work with us to provide regulatory clarity on how to list cryptographic asset contracts on a DCM using our existing authority, as I have already proposed since 2022. Together, we will make America the capital of the cryptographic world. »»
Interested stakeholders can submit comments to the CFTC by August 18.
Paul Atkins, president of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), launched last week “Project Crypto”, announcing the regulator’s intention to deploy a regulatory framework for digital assets that encourages innovation.
