In today’s crypto news (July 14), Bitcoin fell another -0.5% overnight and failed to recover $63,000, trading at $62,500 during this morning’s trading session. The more BTC goes below $63,000, the more likely it is that a decline towards $60,000 will be tested.
Yesterday, $424 million was withdrawn from the various Bitcoin ETF products, including $185 million from BlackRock’s IBIT and $245 million from Fidelity’s FBTC. This huge outflow coincided with BTC falling below $63,000 and struggling to regain this key level.
While the majority of tokens are down today and the total crypto market cap is down -0.5%, Ethereum (ETH) and Near Protocol (NEAR) are two notable projects in the green, up +0.5% and +5.5%, respectively.
The Fear and Greed Index fell back into “extreme fear” territory, falling to 22/100, after briefly leaving that zone yesterday. It remains to be seen whether this figure can hold up in a context of growing tensions in the Middle East.
Crypto News Today: US Government Transfers $300 Million in Seized Crypto Assets to Coinbase
On Monday, the US government transferred nearly $300 million in seized Bitcoin and Ethereum to the Coinbase Prime platform. Market participants believe that this decision could be linked to preparations for a possible sale of these assets.
According to Arkham, the transfer included 3,940 BTC worth approximately $243.95 million and 30,014 ETH worth approximately $53.09 million. These cryptocurrencies are associated with several major seizure cases involving American authorities.
Notably, the transferred Ethereum is linked to Brian Krewson, an Oracle employee involved in a $54 million cryptocurrency storage and money laundering scheme.
The transfers have sparked market interest because a possible sale of Bitcoin could conflict with a March 2025 executive order issued by U.S. President Donald Trump. Under this order, Bitcoins seized by the US government must be added to the strategic Bitcoin reserve and cannot be sold.
However, the transfer to Coinbase Prime does not confirm that the assets are being prepared for sale. The platform offers institutional clients custodial, trading, funding and staking services, suggesting that the transaction may simply be about asset consolidation.
The U.S. government has previously transferred seized cryptocurrencies to Coinbase Prime, but Monday’s transaction was one of the largest this year involving government-linked wallets.

Robinhood Chain Joins Top Five Blockchains With $3.1 Billion DEX Volume
In other crypto news today, Robinhood Chain generated approximately $3.1 billion in decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume in its first week after launch. According to Bernstein analysts, this was enough to place the new blockchain among the top five networks in terms of user trading activity.
According to DefiLlama, since the mainnet launched on July 1, approximately 65,000 users have joined Robinhood Chain. They deposited around $300 million in stablecoins and around $13 million in tokenized stocks.
The Arbitrum-based Layer 2 network is designed for financial services and tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). Its ecosystem partners include Uniswap, Morpho, Chainlink, Lighter and BitGo.
According to Bernstein, memecoins represented the majority of the network’s commercial activity during its initial launch phase. As adoption grew, cryptocurrency traders and liquidity providers also began to join the ecosystem.
Robinhood Chain currently supports tokenized stocks, decentralized lending, and perpetual futures.
Analysts said daily DEX volume reached as much as $809 million, making Robinhood Chain the third largest blockchain in terms of decentralized trading activity, behind only Solana and BNB Chain.
Less than two weeks after launch, the network’s total value locked (TVL) also surpassed $100 million.
