Deutsche Bank plans to deploy a Crypto police service in 2026, in partnership with the Bitpanda technological arm to build the platform, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the problem.
The main dishes to remember:
- Deutsche Bank will launch a crypto police custody in 2026 with the support of Bitpanda and Taurus.
- The bank explores stablecoins and token deposits, signaling a deeper commitment to digital assets.
- The major German banks, including Sparkassen and DZ Bank, also move in cryptography services.
The business division of the German banking giant will also maintain its collaboration with the Swiss supplier Taurus SA, which was involved in the Deutsche Bank guard plans since they were revealed for the first time in 2022.
The survey of the custody occurs while the main financial institutions increase the efforts of digital assets, stimulated by the evolution of regulations in Europe and support measures in the United States after the re-election of Donald Trump.
The Deutsche Bank extends the crypto foot
Deutsche Bank confirmed earlier this month that she explored stabbed and token deposits, which could imply delivering her own token or joining broader industry initiatives.
The bank also weighs the development of a token deposit solution for payments.
In particular, Deutsche Bank was one of investors supporting a funding tour of $ 65 million last year for Taurus, reflecting its growing commitment to the space of digital assets.
The expansion of the cryptography of Deutsche Bank occurs while a number of large German banks have already started to integrate the cryptography services.
Most recently, Sparkassen-Finanzgrupe of Germany has announced its intention to launch Crypto Trading for its 50 million customers by summer 2026.
Dekabank, belonging to Sparkassen, will supervise the crypto offer via the group’s mobile banking application, allowing direct trading of bitcoin and ether.
Similarly, DZ Bank, the second largest German lender, has teamed up with Boerse Stuttgart Digital last year to pilot the trading and guarding services of Crypto, aimed at extending the offers in its 700 cooperative banks after the first tests.
Meanwhile, Landesbank Baden-Wurtemberg, the largest federal bank in the country, announced its intention in April 2024 to provide cryptocurrency for institutional customers in collaboration with Bitpanda.
The momentum is not limited to Germany. Speaking in April, Eric Trump warned that banks are resistant to crypto could become obsolete in a decade, highlighting speed and cost problems in traditional finance.
The big banks change the position towards the crypto
The big banks, including Jpmorgan, Citigroup, Bank of America and Wells Fargo, meet officials of the states led by the Republicans such as Texas and Oklahoma to face the accusations of political biases, in particular towards the industries of fossil fuels and firearms.
Some states have put these banks on blacklists from contracts, which prompted banks to defend or adjust their policies.
Citigroup put an end to his restriction on work with sellers of firearms selling to buyers under the age of 21, while JPMorgan and others said that they do not base loan decisions on political opinions.
Banks also withdraw alliances focused on the climate and the relaxation of restrictions on the financing of coal to avoid more buttresses.
At the federal level, the Trump administration is considering an executive decree to prohibit banks from refusing services based on political or religious beliefs, which could affect the participation of banks in government affairs, in particular the sale of cash obligations.
